This park is not only the home to some amazing scenes of

the inspiration for the mermaid myths. Though these are not the only animals
you will spot as you wind your way along the river. Crocodiles, Alligators,
Otters, Flamingos and even a hippo all make their home here.
This is the spot that the locals all escape to when they are looking for an amazing beach. This hidden goldmine with its soft white sand and its wide range of amenities. You can just laze on the beach until the sun goes down and then you can watch the baby turtles hatch and make their way into the ocean to start their life. This is a magical experience that is not to be missed.
Blue Springs State Park
This is another great place to get up close and personal with nature. The park is the home to manatees as well. One of the best things to do is to spend the day on a kayaking trip around the biggest spring in St. Johns River. Then you can explore Hontoon Island.
