Pandora – “The World Of Avatar” The Brand New Disney Feature You Must Ride
Have you ever felt so absorbed by a movie that the storyline becomes the real world for you? If so, this latest attraction from Disney, set in the Animal Kingdom park, is going to be right up your alley. Pandora – “The World Of Avatar” The Brand New Disney Feature You Must Ride!
Pandora – The World of Avatar, isn’t just for those niche fans of this sci-fi fantasy film. This attraction will convert the outsiders en masse. As word of the breathtaking ride spreads like wildfire, the crowds simply keep coming, and with good reason.
When it comes to surprises and offering something yet unseen, Disney has excelled themselves, yet again. This one is really going to be hard to beat. There are two rides, Flight of Passage and Na’vi River Journey. Both so enthralling that crowds will happily queue for hours for a turn on them. Theme Parks are notorious for the long waiting period to get on a ride. The sheer patience of the fans, illustrate how well Disney managed to tick the boxes on this fantastic exploration of fun.
Crossing The Bridge Into Another World
This isn’t an experience for the meek. On entering the attraction, you will cross the bridge and enter the Valley of Mo’ara and proceed toward the jungle.
Don’t be surprised by the kaleidoscope of sensory experiences. This is no cheap thrill with a few bangs and bumps that you might expect in one of the classic attractions with rides. Pandora – The World of Avatar is simply light years ahead. The fact that everything is novel, including the variety of colours and plant life you’ve never seen before. These don’t have time to saturate your senses before you come upon a distant mountain and the soft spray of a waterfall that is easily 130 feet high.
Anyone who has seen the box office hit will want to grab the opportunity to ride on the back of a mountain banshee and this is clearly the star ride. Those who haven’t seen the movie will get up to speed in no time as this massive twelve-acre delight reproduces the theme throughout. In fact, it wouldn’t be surprising if the movie enjoys a resurgence as a direct result of the new attraction.
Flying High
Flight of Passage will recreate the movie experience but in the real world. It makes the 3D movie experience almost seem flimsy. Riding high over the world of Avatar, the actual distance that you fly belies the sense that you are flying far and wide, experiencing the sights, smells and sounds of this “other world”.
Those that don’t visit theme parks may not be able to grasp why any sane person would happily wait in a queue for five to six hours early in the day just to get in to experience this fantasy world. There is a solution to this dilemma. Those yet unintroduced to the wonders of this magical experience can buy a FastPass+ and those who feel the pull to return will buy one anyway. A FastPass+ enables the holder to jump the queues and get in ahead of the long lines. In relation to the waiting times, it’s a worthwhile investment.
Down the River
A far more easy-going adventure while you’re exploring the World of Avatar is the Na’vi River Journey. Don’t be misled, however, as it is just as jam-packed with sensory experience. Drifting slowly downstream in a reed boat, you’ll pass through several caves and be taken in by even more luminescent and exotic plants. Before you can get enough of the exotic forest animals, you find yourself in front of the Na’vi Shaman of Songs who will instil her power in your soul by immersing you in the power of her connection with the life force of this world.
Everything You Could Possibly Want From Disney
If it was simply about out-of-this-world rides and sensory experiences, you’d be forgiven for considering forgoing the opportunity to visit this once in a lifetime experience. The adventure is completely integrated. There’s nothing of the usual available at the Satu’li canteen, no mainstream fast food themes at all. In fact, you can create your own meal by selecting from the variety of base, protein and sauce options. While you can get something a little more mainstream in the form of a burger on a bao bun or vegetable curry with traditional pickles and sauces, why would you?
The best thing about being able to stave off the hunger while exploring Pandora – The World of Avatar, of course, is that you can save your food order in an app and on arrival at the restaurant let them know that you’re ready to eat. Now that’s a genius queue buster.
With the compulsory gift shop and a sunset reminder of the awe and wonder of where you’ve just been, no stone has been left unturned in providing everything a visitor could want.
Rest assured. You’ll be back.
