Yak & Yeti Restaurant at Disney’s Animal Kingdom: Our Review
Yak & Yeti Restaurant at Disney’s Animal Kingdom: Our Review
If you’re looking for somewhere memorable to eat during a day at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Yak & Yeti Restaurant should absolutely be on your list.
I recently ate at Yak & Yeti with my family, and it ended up being one of my favourite restaurants at Walt Disney World. From the setting and Asian-inspired theming to the cocktails and, most importantly, the food, the whole experience was brilliant.
I ordered the Kobe beef burger, while around the table we also tried the Khao Soi, salmon and orange chicken. We also had the garlic noodles — and they were insane.
Every meal we ordered was excellent, but the Kobe beef burger was the standout for me. It was genuinely one of the best burgers I’ve ever had.
If you’re planning an Orlando holiday and putting together your Disney dining list, here’s our experience at Yak & Yeti and whether I think it’s worth visiting.

What Is Yak & Yeti Restaurant?
Yak & Yeti Restaurant is a table-service restaurant located inside Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
You’ll find it in the Asia section of the park, making it a convenient place to stop while exploring attractions such as Expedition Everest and Kali River Rapids.
The restaurant serves a mixture of Asian-inspired dishes, with flavours and influences from countries across Asia.
But one of the things I liked most about Yak & Yeti wasn’t just the menu.
It’s the setting.
The restaurant has loads of character. Rather than feeling like a generic theme park restaurant, the interior feels like somewhere that belongs within the wider Animal Kingdom story.
There are decorative artefacts, interesting details and different dining spaces throughout the building. It creates a much more immersive experience than simply stopping somewhere for food.
You can view current park information and opening hours on the official Disney’s Animal Kingdom website.
Our Experience at Yak & Yeti
I had high expectations before visiting Yak & Yeti, but the meal ended up being even better than I expected.
We had several different dishes around our table, which gave us a chance to see more of the menu rather than everyone ordering the same thing.
Our family ordered:
- Kobe beef burger
- Khao Soi
- Salmon
- Orange chicken
- Garlic noodles
Every meal was amazing.
That’s probably the biggest compliment I can give the restaurant. There wasn’t one person around the table who felt disappointed with what they’d ordered.
And considering how much choice there is when deciding where to eat at Disney World, that’s important.

The Kobe Beef Burger Was One of the Best Burgers I’ve Ever Had
I went for the Kobe beef burger, and this was easily my favourite part of the meal.
I’m not saying it was simply a good theme park burger.
It was genuinely one of the best burgers I’ve ever had.
The beef was excellent, it was packed with flavour, and it was exactly the kind of meal I wanted after spending hours walking around Animal Kingdom.
There are plenty of more adventurous dishes on the Yak & Yeti menu, so ordering a burger might initially seem like the safe option.
But I wouldn’t overlook it.
If I went back tomorrow, I’d seriously consider ordering exactly the same thing again.
For anyone searching for the best burger at Disney World, I’d put the Yak & Yeti Kobe beef burger firmly in the conversation.
The Khao Soi
Another dish ordered by our family was the Khao Soi.
Khao Soi is a Thai-inspired noodle dish and was a completely different choice from my burger.
That’s something I really liked about the Yak & Yeti menu.
One person can order a burger while somebody else can go for something with much more pronounced Asian flavours. This makes it a good option for families where everyone doesn’t necessarily like the same type of food.
Our Khao Soi was another hit around the table and helped reinforce the fact that Yak & Yeti isn’t somewhere with only one or two standout menu choices.
There is genuine variety.
The Salmon
We also ordered the salmon.
Again, it was excellent.
Having options such as salmon alongside noodles, chicken dishes and burgers makes Yak & Yeti particularly useful when you’re eating with a larger family.
Everyone can choose something different while still eating together in one of the most interesting restaurant settings in Animal Kingdom.
If you’re staying in one of our Orlando villas near Disney, Yak & Yeti is exactly the sort of restaurant I’d consider adding to one of your Animal Kingdom days.
The Orange Chicken
The orange chicken was another dish we tried and another one that went down extremely well.
It offers the kind of sweet, savoury flavour combination you’d expect from the dish and is a good option for someone who wants Asian-inspired food without choosing one of the more unusual items on the menu.
By this point, we’d tried several completely different meals and everything had been good.
That’s why Yak & Yeti stood out to me.
There are restaurants where one person gets an amazing meal while somebody else wishes they’d ordered something different.
That wasn’t our experience here.
You Have to Try the Garlic Noodles
And then there were the garlic noodles.
These deserve their own section.
The garlic noodles at Yak & Yeti are insane.
They’re exactly the kind of side dish where you tell yourself you’re only going to have a little bit and then keep going back for more.
If you’re visiting as a family, I’d absolutely consider getting some for the table.
The burger might have been my favourite individual meal, but the garlic noodles were one of those things everyone remembers afterwards.
I Loved the Yak & Yeti Cocktails
Food wasn’t the only thing I enjoyed.
I loved the cocktails as well.
After walking around Animal Kingdom in the Florida heat, sitting down somewhere air-conditioned with a cocktail and a proper meal is very welcome.
Yak & Yeti feels like somewhere you can actually stop and enjoy yourself rather than simply refuel as quickly as possible before racing to the next attraction.
If you’re planning a full day at Animal Kingdom, I’d allow enough time for lunch or dinner rather than trying to squeeze the restaurant into an already packed itinerary.
You can check current menus and dining information through the official Walt Disney World dining website.
The Setting Is One of the Best Parts
The atmosphere is another reason I’d recommend Yak & Yeti.
I loved the theme and setting.
Animal Kingdom is arguably Disney World’s most immersive park, and Yak & Yeti fits into it brilliantly.
The restaurant’s Asian-inspired design feels connected to the surrounding area of the park rather than being a completely separate experience.
For me, this matters.
When you’re paying for a Disney holiday, the restaurants that stand out aren’t necessarily just those serving good food. They’re the places that add something to the overall day.
Yak & Yeti does that.
You walk in from Animal Kingdom and the experience continues inside the restaurant.

Where Is Yak & Yeti in Animal Kingdom?
Yak & Yeti is located in the Asia section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
It’s particularly convenient if you’re spending part of your day around Expedition Everest or Kali River Rapids.
Animal Kingdom itself is located on the western side of Walt Disney World, which can make it particularly convenient for guests staying in some of Orlando’s major villa resorts.
For example, visitors staying at Reunion Resort can combine the privacy and space of a villa holiday with relatively easy access to Disney.

Is Yak & Yeti Good for Families?
Based on our experience, absolutely.
We went as a family and one of the biggest advantages was the variety.
Between us, we could order completely different dishes:
| What We Tried | Our Verdict |
|---|---|
| Kobe beef burger | Outstanding – one of the best burgers I’ve had |
| Khao Soi | Excellent and packed with flavour |
| Salmon | Another great choice |
| Orange chicken | Delicious and family-friendly |
| Garlic noodles | Insane – definitely worth trying |
Having that amount of choice is useful when travelling with children, parents, grandparents or a larger group.
And that’s also one reason we generally love villa holidays for larger families.
Rather than splitting everyone across multiple hotel rooms, a private property allows the whole group to stay together. If that’s how you’re travelling, take a look at our Orlando villas for large families.
Is Yak & Yeti Expensive?
It’s important to remember that you’re eating at a table-service restaurant inside Walt Disney World, so this isn’t somewhere I’d choose specifically because I wanted the cheapest possible lunch.
For us, however, the quality of the meal and overall experience made it worthwhile.
Restaurant menus and prices can change, so rather than putting prices here that may quickly become outdated, I’d recommend checking the official Yak & Yeti menu before your visit.
That will give you a much better idea of the current dishes and what to budget.
Do You Need a Reservation for Yak & Yeti?
If Yak & Yeti is high on your list, I’d recommend planning ahead rather than assuming you’ll get a table at exactly the time you want.
Disney restaurants can become extremely busy, particularly during weekends, school holidays and peak travel periods.
Check current availability through Walt Disney World dining reservations.
If you’re organising your wider holiday at the same time, our Disney World Orlando guide covers more of the information you’ll need when planning your trip.
Is Yak & Yeti Worth It?
Yes.
Based on our meal, I would absolutely return.
Everything we ordered was good, the restaurant looked fantastic, I enjoyed the cocktails, the garlic noodles were incredible and my Kobe beef burger was one of the best burgers I’ve ever had.
There are hundreds of places to eat across Walt Disney World, so saying a restaurant is memorable actually means something.
For me, Yak & Yeti was memorable.
Where Should You Stay When Visiting Animal Kingdom?
If Disney is the main reason for your Orlando holiday, location matters.
You don’t necessarily need to stay in a Disney hotel.
A private villa can be a particularly good alternative for families because you can have:
- Your own swimming pool
- Multiple bedrooms
- Proper living areas
- Full kitchen facilities
- Games rooms
- Cinema rooms
- Themed children’s bedrooms
- Much more privacy
